Benjamin Franklin– as reprinted in his The Way to Wealth (1758)
If little labour, little are our gains:
Man's fortunes are according to his pains. – Hesperides 752
"Ayinesi iştir kişinin, lafa bakılmaz."
"Actions speak louder than words."
It means that your actions (what you do) communicate more clearly
than your words (what you say). It is as if they were louder than words. If you want people to believe your words, you should "speak" with your actions.
“It is no use walking anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching.
"Zahmetsiz rahmet olmaz."
In other words:
"Emek yok, yemek yok."
"No pains, no gains."
Industry need not wish, as Poor Richard says,
and he that lives upon hope will die fasting.
There are no gains, without pains...
(to illustrate the axiom: "God helps those who help themselves")
